Bazar with receipts

Who shopped, how much and what — with a photo of the memo if you like.

Fair settlement

Balances for every member and the fewest payments needed to square up.

Month-end report

Close the month, carry balances forward and export a PDF or Excel sheet.

Nothing disappears

Every edit is kept in the history, so arguments end with facts.

How it adds up

The same simple maths your mess already uses — done instantly.

Meal rate is total bazar divided by total meals. Your food cost is your meals times the rate. Everything you paid minus what you used is your balance.

Questions

Good to know

How is the meal rate calculated?

Meal rate = total approved bazar ÷ total meals eaten so far this month. It updates the moment anyone adds bazar or a meal changes, so everyone always sees the same number.

What does my balance mean?

Balance = everything you paid in (bazar, bills, deposits and last month’s carry) minus what you used (meals × meal rate plus your share of bills). Green (+) means you get money back; red (−) means you need to pay.

Do I have to enter meals every day?

No. With “meals on by default” everyone is counted automatically each day. Just switch off the meals you skip before the cut-off time, or plan days away in advance.

Who pays whom at the end of the month?

Open Hisab → Settle up. MealHive lists the fewest payments that square everyone up, including money the manager still holds. Tap “Mark paid” when someone pays.

Can someone without a smartphone be in the mess?

Yes. The manager adds them by name and manages their meals. If they install the app later, they join with the mess code and the manager links them to their existing name.
